Being an Ironman is tough for anybody.

Try doing it with diabetes.

Nearly 2,000 athletes will swim 2.4 miles, bike 112 miles, and run 26.2 miles at the 2008 Ironman Wisconsin. Twelve of those athletes will be challenged by an additional event: maintaining steady blood sugars during one of the most extreme tests of physical endurance.

Please help these courageous type-1 athletes to reach their goal of conquering the Ironman. Your contributions will directly support the team on their journey to inspire and educate the millions of people with diabetes.

You may also choose to directly support one of the “Insulindependence ironKiDz” below who are being mentored by local Triabetes athletes from their local communities. The ironKiDz are working with their respective training buddies in preparation for their trip to Wisconsin, where they’ll cross the finish line as a part of the Triabetes documentary.

The gift that keeps on giving

"The support of friends and family is integral,” said one of the triabetes Triabetes team members. Instead of accepting Christmas presents this year, his uncle had asked that all his gifts be forwarded in the form of cash donations to the Triabetes project. “It speaks to his true understanding of the enourmous impact this project is going to have on millions of people." The result: several hundreds of dollars.
